I just saw an email on a charity dance concert for the Bone Marrow Donor Programme (BMDP). This is certainly quite amazing. I, myself, a past bone marrow transplant patient, found a passion in dancing, and now there’s a dance concert seeking to raise funds to grow the donor database. There was a rush of mixed feelings when I saw that poster. On one hand, I feel happy for the blood disorder patients that there are people who are trying hard to raise the awareness of the BMDP, on the other hand, I felt that I could have done much for them as an ex-patient. Honestly, I felt a little ashamed when I saw that there are so many people doing their part to enhance the survival odds of those patients, while I, someone who has reaped the benefits (directly or indirectly) is leading his own life, not contributing a single bit to the cause. I think it’s time that I wake up my idea and take a look at the other worlds out there, apart from the world of entrepreneurs, venture capitalist and CEOs.
